After being welcomed to the clinic and introduced to Luke your first osteopathy appointment will begin with a confidential discussion about your health, where we will go over the following;
Medical history
Current symptoms and how they’re effecting your life
Injury backgroud
Relevant lifestyle habits (Work, exercise, etc)
After this we will move on to the examination. Here we are observing your posture and movements. Depending on your presentation this may include joint, muscle and neurological assessment, with the aim to identify route causes of your symptoms.
After an explanation of these findings and an oppurtunity for you to ask questions, we will discuss your treatment plan for both the short and long term.
Treatment may then include soft tissue techniques, joint mobilisation, stretching and advice on posture, exercises and lifestyle.

Sports massage is a targeted hands-on therapy that focuses on muscles, tendons and fascia. It uses techniques such as deep tissue work, stretching and mobilisation to relieve tension, improve circulation and enhance tissue recovery.
Benefits of having sports massage with an osteopath
Integrated assessment: an osteopath combines a full musculoskeletal assessment with massage, identifying underlying joint or movement dysfunctions that may be contributing to muscle problems.
Tailored treatment plan: massage is delivered as part of a broader treatment strategy that can include mobilisation, exercise prescription and postural advice to address both symptoms and causes.
Improved recovery and performance: combining manual soft-tissue work with structural interventions helps speed recovery, reduce injury risk and optimise movement efficiency.
Pain reduction and functional improvement: addressing both soft tissues and joint mechanics can produce longer-lasting relief and better return-to-sport outcomes than massage alone.
Safe management of injuries: osteopaths are trained to recognise when an injury requires imaging, medical referral or modified loading, ensuring appropriate and safe care.
